1. Protein source matters more than percentage
The first thing almost everyone looks at is the protein percentage per serving. Wrong. What matters is not just how much protein there is, but where it comes from and what amino acids it provides.
Plant proteins have incomplete amino acid profiles when they come from a single source. Pea protein, for example, is rich in lysine but scarce in methionine and cystine. 5. How to interpret the nutrition facts panel correctly
The nutrition facts panel has two columns: per 100g and per serving. This is where many brands play with numbers.
Protein per serving, not per 100g — A product might have 60g of protein per 100g, but if the recommended serving is 20g, you're only getting 12g of protein. Always calculate based on the actual dose you will consume.
